Early Influences

Porky’s (1981)

Set in 1954, a group of Florida high school students seek to lose their virginity which leads them to seek revenge on a sleazy nightclub owner and his redneck sheriff brother for harassing them.

I have see this movie growing up at an impressionable age a few times, and then again when I was older. The laughs didn’t change. Any person can relate to the humor and good times in this movie.

Awards: Golden Reel Award- 1983

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)

A high school wise guy is determined to have a day off from school, despite of what the principal thinks of that, by any means necessary.

No matter how old you are, you can definitely reminisce about the good ‘ol days of high school. The thought of ditching school to have a good time with friends was forever going through your mind. This was every student’s dream in high school, but fulfilled beyond our wildest beliefs.

Awards: Nominated for Golden Globe (1987)
